Wyoming Public Television to highlight sculptor Larry Kirkwood

CHEYENNE – Wyoming Public Television will air “Glimpses of the Larry Kirkwood Exhibit” on Wednesday, March 24 at 10:30 p.m.

Famous sculptor Larry Kirkwood has spent seven years casting 340 plaster images of all kinds of body types for his project entitled “The Body Image Project”. His casts included those of pregnant women; women who have had mastectomies; women with eating disorders; and women who have had plastic surgery, as well as of many men.

According to Larry Kirkwood, his purpose was to make the point that, "the human form as subject matter has been so twisted by its commercial use that many people no longer can view it objectively or enjoy its formal aspects.”
