MEDIA ADVISORY

What: The Wyoming Council for Women’s Issues (WCWI) will announce the 2004 Wyoming Woman of Distinction Award.

Where: The event will take place at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, located at 2500 College Drive, room 1003.

When: The event will be held over a luncheon on Friday, Oct. 1. The luncheon begins at noon.

Background: The Woman of Distinction award celebrates those who have had a significant impact on women and families in Wyoming with regard to education, community, health and legal issues.

Nominees for the 2004 award include: Ray Fleming Dinneen, Cheyenne; Cori K. Erickson, Sheridan; Faith Jones, Powell; Lindi Kirkbride, Meriden; Susan Knesel, Gillette; April Brimmer Kunz, Cheyenne; Julie Lehman, Cheyenne; Linda M. Melcher, Laramie; Kayne Pyatt, Rock Springs; Elaine Roth, Gillette; Frances K. Schultz, Sheridan; Lisa. M. Velker, Cody; Lynne Whalen, Casper and Kathy Wright, Cheyenne.

The WCWI is a 13-member council formed to develop strategies for assisting Wyoming's families with legal, educational, employment, health and community issues.
