The appointment distribution consists of 13 members with representatives from each of the nine judicial districts, four at-large members and one ex-officio member from the Wyoming Business Council.

The Governor, through the boards and commissions application process, appoints the WCWI members to a six-year term. No more than nine members can be from the same political party.
